Meet the Founder, Denise "Ayana" Johnson

Hi, I’m Ayana founder of Sassy Chef. In my life journey of being a vegan, I became very familiar with the art of vegan cooking. I started very early in the kitchen and found a great passion for cooking. After years of receiving mouth watering comments about my cooking, I knew I had a natural gift. In 1999 I attended Stratford University in Falls Church VA, where I received my degree in culinary Arts. After years of intense culinary training, I wanted to study the Art of Raw Vegan foods so I attended Living Light Culinary Institute in Fort Braggs California where I received my raw food chef certification.


Its my mission to show the world that there is a delicious vegan alternative to every recipe. I love the challenge of “veganizing” everything.
